Dear Aotearoa, I find myself sitting here, oceans away from you – not able to forget your rolling green hills, your snow-kissed mountains, your lakes so clear and deep. Not able to forget the kindness with which you welcomed me into your arms – the pureness of your soul that captivated my heart – the joy with which you intoxicated me till this very day.
Taupō Street Art Festival brings together some of the world’s best street artists to the town at New Zealand’s largest lake. So, I grabbed a coffee and went on a little treasure hunt!
50 volcanoes. That is how many volcanoes shape the Auckland area. So, basically, every hill, lake, and basin of the city was shaped or is an actual volcano. And they aren’t dead – just fast asleep (I hope). Rangitoto is the youngest of this big explosive family – and I got to climb its summit.
There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something, if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after.
